"The main thing is what you express. The medium is only of secondary importance."
I live in Crystal Lake, IL
and work in Chicago, IL
. I've enjoyed photography my entire life, but like most people, was baffled by the mysteries of the camera, the film, the developing. It wasn't until 2003 that I made the step from snap-shooter to photographer. Of course, this does not mean I became a good photographer. Rather, I begin the learning process of becoming a photographer. This process continues to this day.
I can be emailed at: email@example.com
Both film and digital, I not only enjoy photography as an art but as a mechanical process. I like cameras and all the many designs, styles, and formats.

I will admit that I'm very much attracted to the equipment-side of photography. The mechanical devices, the various lenses. But that can only take me so far. I need to know more; to learn more; to understand more. I want to be able to distill a scene without thinking about it. I want to be able to see what others do not see. I want to be able to capture what others cannot.
I started this blog as a way to motivate myself to shoot. It's a self-imposed assignment: find good images to post. I also maintain a flickr account, mainly for the community aspects. There is duplication between the two, but I prefer this site for presentation of my images. On average, this photoblog is updated every other day.

By no means is this an exhaustive list of all the photoblogs I visit on a weekly basis, but these are some of the best.
